Siparia’s Mayor warns that urgent work is needed now to prevent further damage to the Shore of Peace.

For the past year or so, there has been consistent erosion at the site, which hosts over 2,000 cremations annually.

Mayor Doodnath Mayrhoo told 103.1FM News that he wrote to the Local Government Minister in December last year highlighting the issue, but did not get a response.

He believes if work is not done before the rainy season, then the site itself will be in danger.

Attempts to contact Local Government Minister Faris Al Rawi have been unsuccessful.
