Shooting with intent and ammunition charges for Diego Martin man

A 45-year-old Diego Martin man appeared before a Master of the High Court charged with multiple offences.

These stem from a shooting that occurred on February 16th, 2025 at Upper Salandy Street, Diego Martin.

Stephen Bethelmy was charged with two counts of shooting with intent, possession of firearm, possession of ammunition, possession of firearm to endanger life, possession of ammunition to endanger life, common assault and malicious damage.

He was not called upon to plead, granted $125,000 bail and will reappear in court on June 20th, 2025.

Meanwhile during an anti crime exercise yesterday, police arrested one man and seized a firearm and ammunition.

Officers searched a house in Plum Mitan where the suspect was found with 12-gauge and 16-gauge cartridges on his person.

A homemade shotgun was also found in the house.
