Kemar Roach has been left out of the West Indies squad for the upcoming home test series against Australia.
Cricket West Indies says he was not included despite being under consideration, and has been duly informed.
Led by Roston Chase, the squad will instead include John Campbell who makes a return after a prolific domestic season.
Keacy Carty also earns a recall, Kevlon Anderson and Johann Laynehave received maiden call ups, and ODI Vice-captain Brandon King has secured a first-time inclusion in the Test side.
The three match series for the coveted Sir Frank Worrell Trophy begins on June 25th at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
It will signal the start of the 2025-2027 ICC Test Championship Cycle.
Head Coach Daren Sammy praised the work of the selection group to identify the players needed to start the new test cycle, saying “We analyzed what the top teams in the world are doing and what is needed for us to bridge the gap. We have identified a direction, along with the group of players and resources to give us the best advantage as we seek to take the team up ladder and challenge the best in the world.”
