Police are investigating a gruesome incident last night in which a four-year-old girl was beheaded.

After receiving a domestic report from the child’s mother around 10:10pm, officers went to the home at Fifth Street, Five Rivers Arouca.

There, they found the decapitated body of Amarah Lallitte

A 39-year-old male relative has since been arrested.

According to a Guardian report, some of the responding officers broke down and cried following the discovery.

Snr Supt Richard Smith says the TTPS Victim and Witness Support Unit will provide counselling all those impacted by this incident.

He also urged persons not to resort to violence during domestic disputes.
