28 undocumented Venezuelan women were detained during an early morning operation at a sports bar in Mayaro.

The detainees were taken to the Mayaro Police Station, together with the bar owner who is assisting with inquires.

Medical examinations were also facilitated for all the detainees.

The operation was led by the National Special Operations Unit and the Counter-Trafficking Unit, with the Immigration Enforcement Section expected to pursue further action.
