Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley will write to Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar to discuss crime.

During a Post Cabinet Media Briefing this afternoon, he said the government is concerned about violent crime and is taking steps to tackle the issue.

Dr Rowley also expressed confidence that work between T&T and the US can help address the crime situation.

The Prime Minister added that work is ongoing to prevent crime within the prisons, and to safeguard the country’s borders.

Another matter on the government’s agenda is improving road conditions.

Dr Rowley revealed that 80 projects are scheduled.

The Prime Minister added that he will address the United Nations General Assembly in New York next Thursday.
