The Progressive Empowerment Party is condemning any threats of political mischief directed to its candidates and is calling on its members to desist from engaging in retaliatory action.

A statement today alleges that PEP candidates have been victims of a dirty tricks campaign, including the destruction of advertising material and banners.

It also claims that parties have been engaging in destructive activity for sensationalism and attention.

The PEP said it has contested many national elections in the past without engaging in this behaviour and will not begin now.
