Couva South MP Barry Padarath intends to nominate the late Anil Bheem for a national award.
This was reportedly revealed by Mr Padarath himself during an Indian Arrival Day celebration held yesterday.
According to a Newsday article, the MP praised Mr Bheem’s contribution not just to local culture, but also toward the development of young East Indians in T&T.
The Indian Arrival Day event was held by Mr Padarath’s office in collaboration with the Orange Valley Vishnu Mandir.
Mr Bheem was the host of 103.1FM’s hugely popular drive time programme “Catch the Rhythms”.
Nicknamed “The Vocalist”, he was also the leader of the BMRZ band and a celebrated entertainer, having started in the industry at a young age.
He passed away on February 4th 2023 at the age of 48.
