St. Augustine MP Khadijah Ameen says Government must intensify its flood preparation efforts.

She says she has sent a formal letter to Works Minister Rohan Sinanan inquiring about the status and completion timelines of the Bamboo and St. Joseph River drainage projects, as well as the installation of pumps and flood gates.

She maintains that these projects are vital in mitigating flood risks for residents in these areas.

Her concerns comes as T&T draws closer to the Rainy Season – it is officially due to begin on June 1st, however Met Service officials believe it may start earlier this year.
