Naparima MP Rodney Charles is calling on the Police Commissioner to address public concerns regarding the police-involved killing of two suspected car thieves in Marabella.

The men, who remain unidentified, were shot dead near the Battoo Avenue Recreation Ground around 3am yesterday.

Mr Charles wants to know if body-cameras were used by officers and whether the footage corroborates their account of the incident.

If the cameras were not used, Mr Charles is calling on the TTPS to say why.

He adds that a lack of transparency will raise serious questions about the TTPS’ commitment to accountability.
