A motorcyclist was killed in an accident along the Southern Main Road in South Valsayn.

Around 10:15pm last night, 28-year-old Richard Ningwah was riding his Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle north along the Main Road, when he crossed unto the southern lane to avoid a pothole.

He hit a silver Kia Cerato and was thrown onto the pavement.

The vehicle meanwhile collided with a light pole and caught fire.

Ningwah was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the car was taken to hospital for treatment.
