The Ministry of Health is seeking clarification from PAHO regarding some contents of its review report into the death of seven babies at the Port of Spain General Hospital in April this year.

The report was received by the Ministry last Friday and today it was laid in the Parliament by Minister Terrence Deyalsingh.

He stated that many of the recommendations were already integral parts of the hospital’s standard operating procedure.

It has been reported that the parents of the seven deceased newborns have since retained legal services and issued pre-action protocol letters to the State and the NWRHA.
