An area of disturbed weather approaching the Leeward Islands is expected to become a tropical storm as it strengthens over the next couple of days.

According to the T&T Met Service, there are no watches or warnings in effect for T&T and the system should not directly impact the country.

It is forecast to pass over portions of the Leeward Islands late tonight or on Tuesday and Tropical Storm Warnings are in effect for Guadeloupe, St. Kitts, Nevis, Montserrat, Antigua, Barbuda, Anguilla, St. Barthelemy, St. Martin and Saint Maarten.

A Tropical Storm Warning means that storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 36 hours.
