M.V. Emprendedora arrives in T&T to help cargo sailings

The M.V. Emprendedora has arrived in T&T to help operations on the sea-bridge in the absence of the M.V. Cabo Star.

The Cabo Star is currently undergoing its statutory drydocking during the period April 6th to 25th.

The Emprendedora reached Trinidad yesterday and began operations today.

It will only be used to take cargo to and from Tobago, including building/construction material, trucks, vans, trucks/trailers, containers and other goods.

The expected sailing times are 2pm from Port of Spain and about 4am the following day from Tobago, based on the length of the crossing and the loading/offloading process.

The T&T Inter-island Transportation Co. Ltd. says users of the service will be required to purchase their travel ticket utilizing the FRX system for the M.V. Cabo Star on the day of the sailing.

It adds that the A.P.T. James & the Buccoo Reef ferries will continue to transport vehicles up to 7,000kgs, with priority to be given for the transport of food items and pharmaceuticals.

The regular sailing schedule will apply for the passenger ferries.

The Galleons Passage will also be available for the transport of vans and trucks on April 15th from POS at 9am and from Scarborough at 2pm.
