Holy Faith attack: extended suspensions requested for 5 students

Extended suspensions have been requested for five students in connection with the recent altercation outside Holy Faith Convent in Couva.

Several girls in plain clothes attacked a Convent student at the school gate, dragging her onto the road where she was kicked and hit.

In an update today, the Education Ministry says the five students have faced suspension, with the extended suspensions requested in keeping with established protocols.

In addition to disciplinary action, the Ministry says the Student Support Services Division has been deployed to provide counselling and psychosocial support to both the affected students and the wider school community.

It also reminds that there has been close collaboration with the TTPS and the relevant school authorities to address the incident.
