The Health Ministry says former Minister Dr Emanuel Hosein has passed away.

In a media release, it extended condolences noting that Dr Hosein served from 1986 to 1991.

The Ministry says he will be remembered for his dedication to country and for championing the cause for persons with disabilities which earned his a Chaconia Medal Gold in 2022.

Dr Hosein was also a former MP for Tunapuna, and among those extending condolences is current MP Esmond Forde who said Dr Hosein represented the constituency well.
