Hamas says a permanent ceasefire is the only guarantee the Palestinian people have against Israel’s ongoing “massacres”.

According to a report by Al Jazeera, Political official Ezzat El-Reshiq has insisted that the group will “not compromise” on the demands of a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the unhindered return of all displaced families to their homes.

He added that, “The occupation wants a temporary agreement to evacuate its hostages, only to resume its genocidal war afterwards.”

Meanwhile Al Jazeera says it has received information from Palestinian doctors about the discovery of a mass grave in the vicinity of Gaza City’s al-Shifa Hospital.

The hospital was recently besieged by Israeli soldiers.

The report says nine bodies, believed to be those of patients, have been found so far.
