A German backpacker is attempting to walk from Toco to Icacos without money or a tent.

Tilo Kruse, who goes by ‘thepilgrimageoflife’ on social media, planned to start the journey today, relying only on strangers he meets along the way.

He explained in a TikTok that his aim is to change perceptions about the country.

In preparation for the journey, he spent a night sleeping outside on the ground and pooled the resources needed for the walk.

He planned to start the journey around 10AM and is hoping to post updates once he gets the time and access to wifi.
