A 24-year-old Freeport man was killed in an accident last night.

Aaron Joel Persad was heading south along the Uriah Butler Highway around 10:45pm, when his motorcycle came into contact with the back of a pickup.

The bike reportedly flipped into the air and burst into flames, with Persad landing a short distance away.

He was taken to the hospital in Mt Hope, but was pronounced dead.

The accident occurred on the stretch between the Caroni and Munroe Road flyovers.
