The first medicinal cannabis dispensary, that will use and supply different locally grown strains of the product, has been opened in Barbados.
In a Barbados Today report, CEO of the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority, Shanika Roberts-Odle, clarified that medicinal cannabis is not available for casual or walk-in purchases.
She reiterated the country’s laws that say the medicinal use of cannabis is legal, and can be accessed with a prescription from a doctor and dispensed by a pharmacist.
She said the new facility is part of a carefully regulated environment and assured it is operations are within the appropriate standards.
