Farmers receive 1,000 cocoa plants to revive T&T cocoa industry

Ten local farmers have received 1,000 high-quality cocoa plants as part of collaborative efforts to revive Trinidad and Tobago’s cocoa industry.

The plants were distributed by NAMDEVCO and the Cocoa Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited, as part of efforts to strengthen agro-biodiversity.

The initiative is part of the BIOREACH project supported by the Agriculture Ministry.

The project promotes climate resilience, biodiversity conservation and improved rural livelihoods through access to resilient, high-quality planting materials.
