Security has been stepped up and an investigation is underway following a threat at the Barrackpore East Secondary School.

The threat was sent via email yesterday, warning of a school shooting at the compound on Monday and Tuesday.

The matter was immediately reported to the Barrackpore Police Station, which subsequently notified the TTPS’ Cyber Crime Unit.

103.1FM News spoke with Senior Superintendent Brian Soodeen, Divisional Commander for the Southern Division, who says additional security has been put in place at the school.

He says this “blanket of security” will continue into the future.

Additionally, regular checks are being done within the school compound itself.
