Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly is encouraging students to explore non-traditional career paths, align their choices with their strengths and use their skills to move to the next step.
Speaking at the Shell STREAM Workforce 2025 Conference , she reminded students of their open ended potential to maximize all available opportunities.
The Minister also noted the value of a mandatory annual career day and acknowledged the role of key stakeholders in bridging the gap between academic learning and workforce readiness.
The event provided students with real-world insights, mentorship, and hands-on experiences to help navigate the evolving job market.
Also speaking was Labour Minister Stephen Mc Clashie who emphasized that students be equipped with the skills to adapt to a dynamic and evolving job market.
The Minister noted the growing demand for technology-related skills and importance of STREAM disciplines in preparing students for emerging industries.
He also identified the fastest growing technology-related roles including Fintech Engineers, AI and Machine Learning Specialists, Software and Application Developers and roles in Green energy transition and Renewable Energy.
