Dwayne Bravo has announced his retirement from all cricket.
In a post on Instagram, the 40-year-old said the decision came after 21 years as a professional cricketer.
He adds that while he would have loved to continue, his body could no longer handle the intensity saying, ” As much as I’d love to continue this relationship, it’s time to face reality. My mind wants to keep going, but my body can no longer endure the pain, the breakdowns, and the strain.”
He adds that he did not want to put himself in a position where he might let down his teammates, fans, or teams.
The announcement comes just two days after he limped off the field during Trinbago Knight Riders’ 80 run loss at the hands of St Lucia Kings in the 2024 Caribbean Premier League.
Prior to the start of the tournament, Bravo had announced that this would be his final CPL.
