Decision soon on successful refinery bidder

An announcement may come in the next few weeks on the successful bidder for the refinery in Pointe-a-Pierre.

This announcement came from Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley this morning, as he delivered the keynote address for the 2025 T&T Energy Conference.

Th three shortlisted companies were previously reported to be: CRO Consortium, US-based iNca Energy LLC and Nigeria-based Dando PLC.

Dr Rowley believes Government has been vindicated in its decision to restructure Petrotrin, since two of the resulting operating companies, Paria Fuel Trading and Heritage Petroleum, have been profitable.

He also addressed concerns relating to the new US Government and how its foreign policy might impact T&T’s agreements with Venezuela for the Dragon and Manakin-Cocuina projects.

Dr Rowley says Government will seek to engage and apprise the new US Administration of the importance of these projects not only to T&T, but to the energy security for the region.
