Condolences pour in for Rennie Ramnarine

Condolences are pouring in for musician and entertainer Rennie Ramnarine, who passed away this morning.

The news was announced by his brother and fellow Dil E Nadan member, Raymond Ramnarine.

Rennie had been battling chronic kidney failure and began dialysis four years ago.

In a statement, Couva North MP Ravi Ratiram said the legacy of Rennie Ramnarine will be long remembered in the art and family he leaves behind.

He also said, “all that is left to do is to honour and respect the man and the music he created for our entertainment.”

Meanwhile, in a social media post, veteran entertainer Rooplal Girdharie shared a video message from Rennie, filmed on April 17th this year while warded at the San Fernando General Hospital.

In the video, Rennie urged artistes to support and help each other in order to develop the local music industry.

He also advised persons not to take their parents for granted and to ensure there is meaning in their lives.

Also extending condolences are music producer Zaheer “BigRich” Khan, music producer and band leader Rishi Gayadeen, music producer Kishore “Wizzy” Ramdath, and singers Ricardo “Daddy Chinee” Melville, Nisha Bissambhar and Renuka Mahabir.

103.1FM also extends sincere condolences to his family, friends and loved ones.

Rennie Ramnarine leaves to mourn, his wife Maria and three daughters.
