Rescue teams in Suriname have recovered the remaining seven of 12 bodies that went missing following a boating accident on Sunday.
According to the Jamaica Observer the Suriname Police Force said the incident occurred when a family was returning from Albina to Saint-Laurent after attending a funeral.
President Chandrikapersad Santokhi declared today, Wednesday, as a “Day of National Mourning” which will see all flags on public buildings and ships at the quay flown at half-mast.
