Top Cop: TTPS “resolute” in finding perpetrators of Harpe Place murders

Police Commissioner Erla Christopher says the TTPS is “resolute” in working to find the perpetrators of yesterday’s quintuple murder at Harpe Place in Port of Spain.

In a recorded message, the Top Cop also insisted the police are working to dismantle gangs, with officers also focused on protecting law abiding citizens.

Here is the full statement issued yesterday in the wake of the Harpe Place murders:

Shortly before 11am yesterday, five persons were fatally shot outside Building 6.

They are: Rudolph Donnie James, 32-year-old Randy Graves, Larry Phillip, 50-year-old Pete Noray and 42-year-old Devon Jack.

Phillip was said to be a police officer.

Also commenting on the murders is Housing Minister Camille Robinson-Regis who condemned the “brazen shooting”

A statement from the Ministry says, “Mrs. Robinson-Regis says the HDC strives to provide affordable living, and safe, communal living
spaces for all of its residents. As such, she strongly rebuked such acts of violence in the capital city. She said the HDC encourages all residents to live in peace, and endeavours to create a place of comfort for all. She said no resident should feel unsafe or held ransomed in their own homes. Minister Robinson-Regis reiterated that such attacks will not be condoned or tolerated.”
The Ministry says the HDC also stands ready to assist the TTPS to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice.
