The Opposition Leader says the UNC will not be supporting government’s proposed amendments to procurement law on Wednesday.
Last week, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley announced that Parliament will be recalled tomorrow to make changes to the Procurement Act.
This followed a decision to put in place a three-month exemption order for services to be acquired in time for the CARICOM Heads of Government meeting in T&T.
However, speaking at a UNC meeting in Princes Town, Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar dismissed government’s reasons for making the changes.
Mrs Persad-Bissessar also ripped up a copy of the proposed amendments, saying they were not worth the paper they were written on.
