Local Artiste Urgently Needs Support for Kidney Transplant

A beloved local chef, performer and community advocate is in urgent need of a kidney transplant. Xavier Pouchet was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure in 2023, following his second bout of COVID-19.

He now undergoes dialysis three times a week, leaving him unable to work or perform, a heartbreaking pause to a lifelong dream. Still, he remains hopeful: “Music is my passion, it keeps me going. I believe I’ll return to it.”

It’s not just the cost of the surgery weighing down Pouchet, the clock is ticking. His previous donor was unable to proceed on time and the lengthy testing process has now expired. The 60,000TTD needed will cover expired medical tests and post-surgery care. Despite the struggles, he says his faith is stronger than ever, and the love from his family and a few close industry friends has kept his spirits high.

His message to the public is a simple but urgent one: “Listen to your body. If you notice shortness of breath, ankle swelling, bloating or any trouble breathing, don’t delay. Get checked.”

Donations of any amount can help give him a second chance and bring him back to the stage where he belongs.
