A 40-year-old Laventille man was held after police seized over 1,000 rounds of ammunition in Port of Spain.

The bust was made during an intelligence-led operation yesterday afternoon, near the Nelson Street Girls’ Primary School.

Acting on intelligence, officers intercepted a white Nissan Frontier.

Inside the vehicle they found the ammunition concealed in a cardboard box, a quantity of cannabis and undisclosed sums of US and local currency.
