A first-of-its-kind partial scope trade agreement has been signed between T&T and Chile to strengthen commercial relations.
After seven years of negotiations, it was signed today by Trade Minister Paula Gopee-Scoon and Chile’s Acting Foreign Minister Claudia Sanhueza.
The Agreement will provide local manufacturers with preferential access to Chilean markets, which has the highest per-person income (GDP per capita) in Latin America.
Chilean manufacturers will also now benefit from reduced rates of duty on products from Chile into T&T.
