Almost 50 days after his disappearance, the family of missing Coast Guard officer Kieron Simon is calling on the government to do what is necessary to move forward with recovery operations.
His brother Kevlon Simon told 103.1FM News today that he was contacted by Coast Guard authorities earlier this week and told that a company had been recruited to assist the operations.
He was also told that this required government approval.
Mr Simon said if there is not a positive outcome soon, he intends to pursue legal action to expedite the process.
He said the delay in the retrieval of his brother has caused emotional and psychological distress to his family, with no support offered by authorities since the incident.
The Coast Guard did not offer any comment when 103.1FM News made contact earlier today, while calls and messages to the National Security Minister were not answered.
Coast Guard Officer disappeared during a maritime operation on February 20th.
