While the Police Commissioner says the TTPS is unwavering in its law enforcement efforts, she believes homicide “is a national issue.”
In a statement, Mrs Erla Harewood-Christopher acknowledges that this year’s homicide toll has gone past 600.
She adds that there will continue to be a challenge for police until the minds of the criminal element, especially young men, are diverted to more productive activities.
In this regard, the Commissioner says there is a role for every citizen on the road to reducing homicides.
