The Children’s Authority says it is working with agencies in the child protection sector to provide assistance and support for four children who were left with a caregiver by their mother.
The children were reportedly dropped off in July, with the mother subsequently refusing to pick them back up.
The Authority’s Director & CEO Sheldon Cyrus says an investigation is underway to “understand the facts of the situation”.
He adds that attempts have also been made to enrol the children in school, ensure medical assessments to determine their quality of health, and provide care packages.
The Authority is also looking at the long-term, sustained care of the children”.
