WASA: pipe borne supply for the extreme end of the south-western network

WASA says it has overcome challenges on the distribution network to provide a pipe borne supply to the furthest customer situated at the extreme end of the south-western network.

These, it adds, includes the communities of Icacos, Cedros, Granville, Palo Seco, Santa Flora and others.

The Authority says some of the works undertaken are: the drilling of three Granville Wells, construction of boosters in Bonasse Village and on the South Central Main Road in Cedros, and the refurbishment of Techier Wells #13 and #21.

It adds that for the first time, the Granville Water Treatment Plant is operating at full capacity, while the Cap De Ville Tank is using its full capacity after 15 years.

It expects over 55,000 persons to benefit as a result.

Supply frequency in the different areas range from 24/7 to 24/2:

WASA says the previous supply level was once every nine days or worse.
