Jamaica is on the alert following the formation of Tropical Storm Rafael this afternoon.
The National Hurricane Centre says Rafael is expected to move near Jamaica late tonight, be near or over the Cayman Islands late on Tuesday, and approach Cuba on Wednesday.
Steady to rapid strengthening is also forecast, with the system expected to become a hurricane tomorrow.
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Jamaica, while a Hurricane Warning is in effect for the Cayman Islands.
Watches are also in place for parts of Cuba and Florida.
