Former T&T footballer Chris Birchall is looking to become a referee.
Birchall posted on social media that he had accepted a three year contract offer from Professional Game Match Officials Limited to become one of the first ex-players to transition to professional refereeing.
According to reports, PGMOL teamed up with the Professional Footballers’ Association back in June to identify 10 to 12 current or former players to enroll in the programme.
Birchall, 40, made 44 international appearances for T&T, including three at the 2006 World Cup in Germany.
He also played for LA Galaxy, Port Vale, Brighton and Coventry.
