The TTPS says seven men were arrested after a shoot-out with police during a routine house search exercise in Manzanilla yesterday.
Officers reportedly went to a house along Calypso Road to execute a search warrant for firearm and ammunition.
Upon arrival, several persons who were at the front of the house allegedly began running.
When the officers gave chase, one of the men allegedly opened fire, prompting the officers to discharge their weapons.
Two men were subsequently subdued.
The TTPS says one, a 27-year-old man, was found with a magazine containing seven rounds of ammunition.
The other, a 36-year-old man, was found with a hand grenade.
Both men had apparent gunshot wounds to their legs and were taken to the hospital where they are listed in stable condition.
A comprehensive house search was also conducted, leading to the discovery of a
Taurus nine-millimetre pistol with two black-coloured magazines and six rounds of ammunition.
Five other persons, all in their 30s, were arrested in connection with the find.
