A 26-year-old suspect is in custody after an incident in which a woman died after being struck by a car.

The victim has been named as 28-year-old Keifer Wilson of Gasparillo.

According to reports, Wilson was a passenger in a white Aqua heading south along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway around 10pm yesterday, when another vehicle cut them off near the Gandhi Village Roundabout in Debe.

An argument ensued, during which time the driver of the second vehicle got back behind the wheel and drove into Wilson.

She died as a result of her injuries.
