A 61-year-old man was shot and killed in Morvant this morning.

Around 5:50am, officers responded to a report of loud explosions at the corner of Laventille Road and Chinapoo Road.

On arrival they found Nazrudeen Latiff lying motionless with gunshot wounds to the upper back and head.

Enquiries revealed that the victim was shot while walking to deliver two bags of clothing to the Masjid in El Socorro.
