St Augustine MP Khadijah Ameen wants better preparation for the rainy season, following another bout of flash flooding in her constituency.

Intense showers yesterday caused street flooding in Bamboo #2 and #3, Real Spring in Valsayn, Curepe, St. Augustine South, Spring Village, Tacarigua and the UWI compound.

Ms Ameen says response efforts were hampered by inadequate staffing and insufficient resources.

She adds that proper funding and manpower are needed for the relevant agencies to prepare and protect citizens.
