A councillor from Chaguanas is using his stipend to buy chemicals to step up a mosquito eradication fogging exercise in his district.

Adrian Ali of Munroe Road/Caroni Savannah Road, says the high number of dengue infections has inspired him to act.

The exercise began last evening at Pepper Sauce Village, and will continue to end at Clarke Road in Charlieville.

He said the machines were sponsored, and volunteers are using their time to help with the fogging.

Mr. Ali has also reiterated the importance of residents cleaning their surroundings to eradicate breeding sites in their surroundings.
