Braille copies of the National Strategic Action Plan on Gender-Based Violence and Sexual Violence of Trinidad and Tobago 2023-2027 have been handed over to the Blind Welfare Association.
The presentation was made today by Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister, with responsibility for Gender and Child Affairs, Ayanna Webster-Roy.
The NSAP focuses on prevention, protection, prosecution, punishment and the effective provision of redress for victims and survivors of gender-based and sexual violence, including children, the elderly and persons with disabilities.
Minister Webster-Roy adds that, “An effective NSAP means that critical information on policies and services are in the hands of citizens with visual impairments.”
