From the start of this Rainy Season to July 24th 2024, the TTMS analyzed and tracked 19 tropical waves.

This is according to Meteorologist Gary Benjamin, who reminds that this is one of the main features of the Wet Season, along with the ITCZ and individual thunderstorm formation.

Mr Benjamin also reminded of Beryl, which he said “exploded” into a very powerful hurricane that “just brushed” Tobago and passed within “touching proximity” of Trinidad.

Persons are warned of the impact of such adverse weather and are being urged to review their preparedness plans.

Mr Benjamin spoke as he provided an update on the 2024 Rainy and Hurricane Season.
