Canada’s tourist town, Jasper, has been hit by wildfires, forcing the evacuation 25,000.
According to BBC News, buildings in the town are now burning and the blaze has spread through the Jasper National Park where park officials say there has been “significant loss.”
Hundreds of wildfires have sparked in the western provinces of Alberta and British Columbia as the region has been hit by more than 58,000 lightning strikes within the last week following a three-week heatwave.
Around 1,900 Alberta firefighters have been deployed, assisted by personnel from Alaska and Australia, and are working to save local infrastructure.
