Two men were arrested following a police-involved shooting in Lange Park on Sunday night.
During an intelligence-led exercise officers received information about suspects in a vehicle who were in possession of a firearm and narcotics.
They subsequently intercepted a white Nissan Tiida with two male occupants – one suspect attempted to flee, but was held a short distance away.
The driver allegedly pointed an object resembling a gun at the officers, prompting them to discharge their firearms.
The car accelerated but crashed a short distance away.
The driver remains warded in stable condition under police custody.
Police reportedly recovered a revolver with five rounds of ammunition, a quantity of marijuana and a cellphone from the vehicle.
