The matter of T&T recognizing the State of Palestine continues to be under consideration by the Cabinet, according to the Foreign Affairs Minister.

Dr Amery Browne made this statement to 103.1FM News this morning, in response to a call by the Bureau of the United Nations Committee for the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.

The Committee, which met with the Minister earlier this week, urged government to consider recognizing the State of Palestine.

Minister Browne told 103.1FM News that government has been consistent in its calls for an immediate ceasefire and the implementation of a two-state solution.

However, on the specific matter of the recognizing the State of Palestine, the information shared by the Committee will be important in helping Cabinet determine its next steps.
