Acting Prime Minister Stuart Young has promised tougher penalties for incidents of gender based violence and more protection for women seeking to get away from their abusers.

His statements came this morning during an event at the Diplomatic Centre to commemorate International Women’s Day 2025.

Mr Young says he also intends to approach Cabinet with a proposal to offer professional psychological and counselling support to those in need across the country.

International Women’s Day will be celebrated tomorrow, March 8th, under the theme “Accelerate Action.”
