Xhaiden Darius of Savonetta Private Primary School and Dabria Baptiste of St Joseph’s Convent are the 2025 School’s Intellectual Chutney Soca Monarch Champs!

8-year-old Xhaiden topped the Primary Schools category of the competition, adding the crown to his haul which includes the 2025 Junior Calypso Monarch title and third place at the 2025 Primary Schools Junior Soca competition.

Second in this category was Katelin Sultan of Warrenville TIA, while third place went to Celebrit-T Charles of Lower Morvant Primary.

For the Secondary Schools category, Dabria beat out close competition from 2nd placed Marcus McDonald, while third place went to Darien McDonald.

Both Marcus and Darien are from Presentation College and just yesterday, both also finished in the Top 3 in the 2025 Secondary Schools Junior Soca competition: Marcus placed second while Darion was third.

The 2025 School’s Intellectual Chutney Soca Monarch competition was held today at the NCIC Nagar in Chaguanas and hosted by 103.1FM’s Sarika Mahabir.
